CONSULTATIONS
Businesses must comply with the Disability Discrimination Act in terms of making reasonable adjustments for their disabled staff.
Most are aware of their responsibilities but do not have sufficient knowledge of hidden disabilities such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia (difficulty with number) and epilepsy, amongst many others, to enable them to make these adjustments with confidence.
Those who have made adjustments in terms of physical access have stated that this has attracted clients, customers and employees, enabled strong and productive working relationships and facilitated growth in both customer satisfaction and business. Making adjustments for those with 'hidden disabilities' can be equally successful and is not as daunting a task as it may seem!
I can provide the following services for business:
Consultations with individual staff to ascertain reasonable adjustments
Help to assess your business practice - are you a dyslexia-friendly company?
Provide or help you to develop training or information materials for your staff (I can access the services of a voice-over artist for CD/website-based materials)
This list is not exhaustive - please contact me to discuss any other requirements that you may have. |
